9-DAYS NOVENA TO CORPUS CHRISTI
(MOST HOLY BODY & BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST)
9-DAYS NOVENA TO CORPUS CHRISTI (MOST HOLY BODY & BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST)
Primary Scripture: John 6:22–58
Purpose of This Novena
This Novena to the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ (Corpus Christi) is offered to deepen our love for the Eucharist, strengthen our faith in the Real Presence, obtain healing for our souls and bodies, make reparation for sins committed against the Blessed Sacrament, and draw us into a profound union with Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life who came down from heaven.
May these nine days bring spiritual revival to our hearts, our families, our parishes, and our nation. Amen.
DAY 1
OPENING PRAYER
I thank You, Jesus, my Divine Redeemer, for coming into the world for our salvation and for instituting the most adorable Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, through which You remain with us until the end of time.
I thank You for veiling Your infinite majesty and radiant beauty beneath the Eucharistic species—glories before which the Angels themselves bow in awe—so that I may draw near with confidence to the throne of Your Mercy.
I thank You, most loving Jesus, for making Yourself my heavenly food, for uniting me to Your Sacred Heart in this wondrous Sacrament, and for granting me the grace to live in You and through You.
I thank You, my Jesus, for giving Yourself to me in this Blessed Sacrament and enriching it with the inexhaustible treasures of Your love—so great a gift that nothing greater could be bestowed upon me.
I thank You not only for becoming my spiritual nourishment, but also for offering Yourself as a perpetual sacrifice to Your Eternal Father for my redemption.
I thank You, O Divine Priest, for daily offering Yourself upon our altars in adoration and homage to the Most Blessed Trinity, and for making reparation for our imperfect worship and feeble love.
I thank You for renewing, in every Holy Mass, the one Sacrifice of Calvary, where You satisfied Divine Justice for us poor sinners.
I thank You, dearest Jesus, for becoming the spotless and priceless Victim who has merited for me the fullness of heavenly graces. Stir within me a profound trust in Your love, that these graces may descend ever more abundantly upon my soul.
I thank You for offering Yourself in thanksgiving to the Eternal Father for all the spiritual and temporal blessings He has lavished upon me.
Lord Jesus Christ, truly present in the Most Holy Eucharist, I adore You with all my heart. As I begin this novena in honor of Your Body and Blood, deepen my faith, inflame my love, and purify my soul. Draw me into the mystery of Your Eucharistic presence, heal my wounds, strengthen my will, and grant the intentions I now place before You (mention your private intentions). Amen.
Theme: Seeking the Eucharistic Lord
SCRIPTURE: John 6:22–24:
“On the next day the people who remained on the other side of the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone. However, boats from Tiberias came near the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
So when the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.”
INTENTION:
For the grace to seek Jesus sincerely—not His gifts, but His presence; and for all who have abandoned the Eucharist.
REFLECTION:
The crowds searched for Jesus across the sea because they had tasted the miracle of the multiplied loaves. Yet their hearts were fixed not on the Giver but on the gift. Many today run after blessings but ignore the Blessed Sacrament; they seek miracles but neglect the Miracle-Worker. Corpus Christi invites us to a deeper longing—to seek Jesus for who He is. In the Eucharist, He waits silently in every tabernacle, longing for our love. Searching for Him is the beginning of true discipleship. This novena begins by purifying our hunger: Do we seek Him for bread or as Bread?
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I seek You with all my heart. Free me from shallow desires and draw me closer to Your Eucharistic Heart. Bring back all who have drifted from the Mass or grown cold in devotion. Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, be my eternal food and deepest desire. Amen.

Theme: Food That Endures to Eternal Life
SCRIPTURE: John 6:25–27
“When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw signs but because you ate your fill of the loaves.
Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you; for on him has God the Father set his seal.”
INTENTION:
For freedom from unhealthy attachment to material things; for all struggling financially or seeking direction.
REFLECTION:
Jesus rebukes the people gently: “Do not labor for the food that perishes.”
Our world pursues money, success, and physical comfort, yet the soul remains starving. The Eucharist is the answer to this deeper hunger. Everything earthly fades. But the Eucharist never fades, never expires, never perishes. It is the Bread that endures to eternal life. Christ gives Himself to us that we may live not just for earth, but for heaven. He invites us to reorder our priorities so that our greatest hunger is for Him.
PRAYER:
Jesus, detach me from worldly anxieties and teach me to labor for what leads to eternal life. Provide for those in financial stress and bless their efforts. Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, be my lasting treasure. Amen.

Theme: Faith: The Doorway to the Eucharist
SCRIPTURE (FULL): John 6:28–29
“Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”
Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
INTENTION:
For deeper faith in the Real Presence—for myself, my family, and all who doubt.
REFLECTION:
When the people ask Jesus what God requires, He gives a simple answer: Believe.
Faith is the doorway to the Eucharist. Without faith, Communion becomes routine; with faith, it becomes divine encounter. Faith opens the eyes of the soul to see beyond bread into the very Heart of God. Every time we kneel before the Host, heaven bends toward earth and God offers Himself to us. Corpus Christi renews our belief that the Eucharist is not a symbol but the true Body and Blood of the Lord.
PRAYER:
Lord, increase my faith. Heal my doubts. Grant true belief in Your Eucharistic presence. Strengthen the faith of all who are weak or confused.
Amen
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, deepen my faith. Amen.

Theme: The True Bread from Heaven
SCRIPTURE: John 6:30–35
“So, they said to him, “Then what sign do you do, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you perform?
Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”
Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world.”
They said to him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.”
INTENTION:
For all who hunger physically, emotionally, spiritually; for the homeless, needy, and depressed.
REFLECTION:
The people compared Jesus to Moses, expecting another miracle of manna. But Jesus gives something infinitely greater—Himself. He declares, “I am the Bread of life.” No career, relationship, achievement, or pleasure can fill the emptiness inside the soul. Only Jesus, the Bread of Life, can that satisfy every dimension of human hunger. In Communion, the human heart finds what it has been searching for through years of restlessness. When we receive Communion worthily, we taste heaven on earth.
PRAYER:
Bread of Life, feed every empty space within me. Provide for the poor, heal the brokenhearted, and satisfy the spiritually hungry.
Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, fill my deepest hunger. Amen.

Theme: The Father’s Will: Eternal Life
SCRIPTURE: John 6:36–40
“But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.
All that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me; and this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up at the last day.
For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
INTENTION:
For the sick, the dying, and those losing hope; for a strong faith in life after death.
REFLECTION:
Jesus reveals the Father’s desire: that none of His children be lost, but that all who believe may have eternal life. Eternal life begins at the altar with the Eucharist, which is the pledge of this promise — “I will raise him up on the last day. “Every Communion strengthens our hope that death is not the end. The Body and Blood of Jesus plant within us the seed of resurrection and immortality.
PRAYER:
Jesus, raise up the sick in faith, strengthen the dying with hope, and fill my soul with the certainty of eternal life through Your Body and Blood. Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, be my hope in life and in death. Amen.

I now place before You (mention your private intentions). Amen.
Theme: Drawn by the Father
SCRIPTURE: John 6:41–45
“The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.”
They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
Jesus answered them, “Do not murmur among yourselves.
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Every one who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me.”
INTENTION:
For hardened hearts, sinners, and those resisting God’s call.
REFLECTION:
The people murmured because they could not understand Jesus’ heavenly origin. Their hearts were closed to grace. Jesus explains that no one comes to Him unless drawn by the Father. Every love for the Eucharist is a gift of the Father, a gentle invitation to intimacy with Jesus. To approach the altar is to respond to God’s loving call. He desires to teach every heart and bring all His children to the Bread of Life.
PRAYER:
Father, draw me closer to Your Son truly present in the Eucharist. Soften hardened hearts. Call sinners home. Teach us by Your grace. Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, draw me deeper into Your love. Amen.

Theme: The Living Bread
SCRIPTURE: John 6:46–51
“Not that any one has seen the Father except him who is from God; he has seen the Father.
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
INTENTION:
For love of the Holy Mass; for priests who bring us the Bread of Life.
REFLECTION:
Jesus reveals the greatest truth of the Gospel: The Father sent Him from heaven, and He offers His own Flesh for the life of the world. The Eucharist is the continuation of the Incarnation and the Sacrifice of the Cross —the same Jesus who died for us is the One we receive in Communion. Without priests, there is no Eucharist. Without the Eucharist, there is no Church. Corpus Christi therefore becomes a day of gratitude for the gift of the priesthood and the Sacrifice of the Mass. Through priests, heaven touches earth daily.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, Living Bread, deepen my love for the Holy Mass. Bless all priests; strengthen, purify, and protect them. May Your Sacrifice always be celebrated with reverence. Renew the Church through Eucharistic devotion. Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, nourish me with Your life. Amen.
DAY 8

Draw me into the mystery of Your Eucharistic presence, heal my wounds, strengthen my will, and grant the intentions I now place before You (mention your private intentions). Amen.
Theme: True Food and True Drink
SCRIPTURE: John 6:52–56
“The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.”
INTENTION:
For purity of heart; for worthy reception of Holy Communion; for cleansing from every sin.
REFLECTION:
The people argued: “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” But Jesus does not correct them—He intensifies His teaching. He insists that His Flesh is true food and His Blood true drink. This is the heart of our Catholic faith, the core of the Eucharistic mystery: the Eucharist is not a symbol, but truly Jesus—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. To receive Him is to enter into holy union with God Himself. To receive unworthily is to reject life; to receive with love is to enter divine intimacy
PRAYER:
Purify me, O Lord. Cleanse my heart so I may receive Your Body and Blood worthily. Heal the world from sacrilege and indifference toward Your Eucharistic Presence. Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, abide in me as I abide in You. Amen.

Draw me into the mystery of Your Eucharistic presence, heal my wounds, strengthen my will, and grant the intentions I now place before You (mention your private intentions). Amen.
Theme: Life Because of Jesus
SCRIPTURE: John 6:57–58
“As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.
This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.”
INTENTION:
Thanksgiving for the gift of the Eucharist; grace to live a Eucharistic life of holiness, charity, and sacrifice.
REFLECTION:
Jesus declares a mystery beyond imagination: just as He lives because of the Father, so whoever eats Him will live because of Him. The Eucharist becomes the life of the believer—the energy of saints, the strength of martyrs, the joy of the Church. In receiving Jesus, we become living tabernacles, bearers of divine life. This final day calls us to renew our Eucharistic love and to live always as witnesses of the Bread of Life in the world.
PRAYER:
Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your Body and Blood. Remain with me always. Transform my life into a living tabernacle. Help me radiate Your love in the world. Amen.
Litany of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ…
CONCLUSION:
Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, Bread from Heaven, grant that I may live in You and You in me forever. Amen.

We beseech You, hear us.
That You may unite Your Church in the one Bread and the one Cup,
We beseech You, hear us.
That You may inflame our hearts with Eucharistic devotion,
We beseech You, hear us.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
V. You gave them Bread from Heaven.
R. Containing in Itself all sweetness.
Let us pray.
O God, in this wonderful Sacrament You have left us a memorial of Your Passion.
Grant us, we pray, so to venerate the sacred mysteries of Your Body and Blood
that we may always experience within ourselves the fruits of Your redemption.
You who live and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God forever and ever. Amen.
